The Food and Nutrition Services Department at V.G Hospital is managed by experienced, highly qualified specialists and the mission is to provide nutritionally sound, quality controlled, satisfying and appetizing meals to patients, employees and visitors. Utmost care is taken in preparing the meals and the diet plan is provided in a multidisciplinary manner, in collaboration with the other members of the care team which includes Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, Physical Therapists and Discharge planners.
We are experts in food and nutrition and the department works on advising patients on what to eat in order to lead a healthy lifestyle or achieve a specific health-related goal.
A Registered Dietitian is available in the facility and will be available on call.
The Department of Food and Nutrition is leading the way in researching and providing information and services to meet the nutritional needs of patients during their hospital stay and their recovery. Working collaboratively with the team of dietitians, the Department offers outpatient consultations and medical nutrition therapy.
V.G hospital cafeteria is open to visitors, staff and the general public all throughout the week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Our menu has expanded to include a variety of dishes that caters to all taste buds.
